Our residency program is open to visual artists over 21 years of age not currently enrolled in a degree granting art program.  Applicants submit:

•9 work samples

•1 page statement of intent

•$25 Application fee


We encourage artists of all backgrounds to apply for admission. We do not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, gender, age(must be over 21), or sexual orientation. International artists are welcome to apply.



•Applications for Winter/Spring are available on May 1st, 2017

•Applications for Winter/Spring are due November 1st, 2017 for residencies beginning January 1st, 2018 through May 31st, 2018.

•Artists will be notified of their time slots by November 31st.



There is no fee for residency except the nonrefundable $25 application fee.  Application fees must be paid by credit card.



Residencies average 4 weeks.

Winter/Spring Residencies run from January to May 31st.

Summer/Fall Residencies run from June to October 31st.



The residency begins with an informal meeting to introduce the artists to the lab, and to discuss the schedule and format for the residency. Artists are given a tour of the grounds and the studio spaces, then shown their living accommodations.


There are free public events scheduled during each residency. During the residency each artist is scheduled to give a lecture about their work and career. A closing reception with presentation of new work and works in-progress allows the public to experience the artists’ work.
